The client was looking for some mid century pieces of furniture to work alongside the more traditional interiors of their Georgian townhouse. They was after an occasional chair a desk and desk chair.

For the occasional chair we decided on the elegant Carl Hansen Colonial chair, designed in 1959 by Ole Wanscher. Finished in Walnut with the seat and back cushions upholstered in Kvadrat Hallingdal. We then added a little throw cushion upholstered in Teyssier’s Hawkeswood fabric to tie in with fabrics used elsewhere in the room.

For the desk chair we decided on the classic Knoll Conference chair designed in 1957 by Eero Saarinen. Upholstered in Dedar Adamo and Eva a lovely soft cotton velvet with walnut stained legs. It is incredibly comfortable and works as a desk chair in this living room setting.

The desk is in a modern mid century style sourced from West Elm. It’s a simple unobtrusive design that sits well in the backdrop of the room
